Bishop to Bodie Ride Join us for a five day ride from the high desert east of Bishop to the old ghost town of Bodie. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors of the Eastern High Sierra and a true western experience in wild horse country through the scenic Mono Lake region. The journey begins in the Bishop area and follows an old stagecoach route used in the late 1800's leading to the historic mining town of Bodie, California. Riders will return to Bishop for the beginning of the annual "Mule Days" celebration. Participants are encouraged to dress in the attire of the late 1800's in keeping with the surroundings of Bodie.
The ride is suitable for riders to bring their own horses for the ride. However, horses will be provided upon request. The route is suitable for saddle animals as well as horse or mule drawn wagons. All meals will be furnished, along with feed for the horses, hot showers and evening entertainment. Participants are welcome to be a part of the entertainment. All guests are invited to attend Bob Tanner's Mule Days Barbeque, Friday evening and to ride in the "Mule Days Parade" with the "Red's Meadow Gang" entry if you have your own horse or wagon.
