Having trouble getting a permit for your favorite location out of the Red’s Meadow Valley? Let us do the hard parts for you! As a commercial operator, we have permit availability seven days a week. We are able to pull entry permits for several popular trailheads including JMT North or South of Devils Postpile, Shadow Creek, Minaret Lake, High Trail, River Trail, Fish Creek, Beck Lakes, & Fern Lake.
For $650+ Wilderness Permit, have up to 150 lbs. of gear brought in 6-8 miles (depending on trailhead) to start your trip off on a positive note. Save your knees and get a head start on your backpacking trip! Take advantage of this opportunity to access some of the best wilderness in the Sierra Nevada.

There are over 100 lakes and many miles of streams within a day’s journey. So much to see! Why not make a trip deeper into the Sierra easier on yourself? Our pack station specializes in custom pack trips to help you plan the Sierra trip to the destination of your dreams.
Trips are available throughout the John Muir and Ansel Adams Wilderness, and we have Wilderness permits available seven days a week! We will be happy to recommend secluded camp spots and seldom visited lakes and streams.
Spot Trips
Drop your gear at the pack station and hit the trail! Lace up your hiking boots or swing into the saddle as you head to your pre-determined destination. Our packer will drop your gear at camp, whether you hike on your own or ride in with the packer is up to each member of your party. If you chose a two-way trip, your packer will return to your camp on an agreed upon date with riding and pack animals to bring your group back to the trail head.
Spot trips are also offered as a one-way service. This is a great option for groups looking to get a jump start on a multi-day itinerary or are worried about carrying a week’s worth of food on day one. With this option, once your packer drops you off you will continue your trip unsupported and hike out with your gear at the end of your trip.
Spot Trips are the best option for those who enjoy a comfortable base camp in the High Sierra. Bring the little extras that keep your comfortable and enjoying your time in the wilderness. Spend your time enjoying the backcountry at the pace that works best for you, instead of rushing each morning to break down camp. Day-hike, fish, and enjoy the solitude of nature from your backcountry campsite.

***An additional charge will be added to trips to Garnet Lake & the Fish Creek Valley due to the length of these trips. Trips to these locations will be charged $450 per packer and $275 per rider or pack stock.
Spot Trips require a minimum charge of $900 (2 mules and 1 packer). We have prepared a packing checklist for you!
The Forest Service mandates that the total number of people at one campsite does not exceed 15 people.
Deposit: Cost of permit fee/person + 30% deposit.
Billing: The balance due of the trip is due on the first day of your trip.
No show parties: Full amount of the trip will be charged to credit card on the scheduled first day of trip.
Re-scheduling: Incurs a charge for new permit (forfeit cost of old permit) +$50.00 rescheduling fee.
Cancellation policy: Cancellations made with more than a 60 days notice will be refunded, minus a $50.00 processing fee. Cancellations made with less than 60 days notice will forfeit their full deposit.

Continuous Hire Trips
This is a moving trip designed for those who want to camp somewhere new every night.
Every morning on the trail, you will break down your camp, pass off your gear to your packer, and head out towards your next camp. Your packer will load up the mules and meet you down the trail at you next pre-determined location. A great option if your goal is to see a lot of country. These trips are priced by the number of animals needed per day. Riding animals are not available for these trips.
